This involves implementing web accessibility standards, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), to make digital content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. Legal Requirements and Accessibility Standards

ADA and American Regulations

Non-compliance can result in legal actions, including fines and removal of non-compliant products or services from the EU market.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), are internationally recognized standards aimed at making web content accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. WCAG 2.0, established in December 2008, set the foundation, while subsequent updates—WCAG 2.1 (June 2018) and WCAG 2.2 (October 2023)—introduced additional success criteria to address evolving accessibility needs.

Compliance with WCAG 2.0 Level AA is often considered the minimum standard for accessibility and is widely adopted in legal frameworks across countries like the United States, Canada, and the European Union . While Level AAA offers the highest level of accessibility, it is not always practical to achieve in all contexts.​
